What to Expect:
Praise and Worship
Worship service begins with NLF band number and then continues with congregational or special singing. The words to the songs appear on the large screens up front. Everyone is invited to join in praise and worship. We are a bible believing church with Pentecostal roots so you may witness vibrant and emotional manifestation in worship.
Welcome and Announcements
If you are visiting for the first time an usher may ask you to fill out a visitors card that may be used in a public welcome of guests. Announcements may be made during or at the end of service. You are also welcome to use the card to share with us any special prayer requests you might have.
NLF is known as a church of prayer. We traditionally set aside time during the service for the reading of prayer requests. There is also the freedom during worship service to come forward and pray at the altar or with the elders and ministers. If you have any special needs or prayer requests we invite you to join with us in this time of prayer.
Each service we take time to pass the pans for a free will offering. As our guest, you should not feel obligated to give an offering. This part of the service is primarily for those who have committed to give to the local work through tithes and offerings.
Although we have some structure to our services, we endeavor to let the spirit of Christ direct us by not programming who will be the main speakers. We don’t do this perfectly but encourage each person to feel the freedom to speak under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. We firmly believe that a church service is not a spectator sport and invite everyone to participate.
Sermon or Teaching
The lesson from the Bible helps us to understand God’s word and apply His teachings to our everyday life. Typically this is delivered by the pastor, elders or visiting pastors.
